Outreach
Throughout the year, our Missions Board guides outreach to the community by organizing projects for and dispersing funds to numerous worthy organizations. We have history with specific projects described and pictured below, and support a number of other organizations monetarily, including the American Red Cross, Feed My Starving Children, Meals on Wheels, Doctors Without Borders, the Salvation Army, Great Harvest Heartland, Resource West, Timber Bay Youth Camp, various emergency relief efforts, and more.

Simpson ShelterSimpson Shelter in south Minneapolis provides meals and a place to sleep for homeless clients. Gary Larson and Ross Rogney, with other faithful church members and the monetary donations of many, cook and serve a hot evening meal there once each month. Our church is known by the grateful recipients at Simpson for its pot-roast dinners!

Tree House
We serve a nutritious dinner every other month to preteens/teens at the local Minnetonka Tree House. This nationwide organization is aimed at reaching at-risk youth with love, support, and spiritual growth. Every year we also purchase gift cards that are given to the kids at their Christmas party. And a group of church women who love preparing and serving the dinners attended the annual Women of Hope luncheon for Tree House in May (see if you can find the photo on the Home page!).

ICA
Our church, along with others in our community, collects groceries and other household items as well as monetary donations for the ICA Food Shelf throughout the year. We have monthly themes for donations, ranging from peanut butter and jelly to cleaning supplies, but of course anything is appreciated ! ICA provides a grocery-store setup at its Hopkins location, as well as food deliveries, short-term financial assistance for rent, utilities, child care, and employment assistance. In 2018, ICA provided services to over 2,000 local families in need, including 299 new families.

Christmas Gifts
Each Christmas season we set up a Mitten Tree in the church narthex that knitters, crocheters, and shoppers cover with warm scarves, hats, gloves, and mittens. These items in 2018 were given to Mobile Loaves Twin Cities, which distributes good to the homeless. The organization was thrilled to receive our donations!
